Two Minutes With… Scott Burke

Describe your remit and responsibilities as National Sales Manager

My role as National Sales Manager at Asset Alliance Group (AAG) in our Bus & Coach team is a combination of generating new business, building relationships with operators, and working with suppliers and manufacturers to support referrals. Managing relationships with our existing clients and ensuring that we provide them with a fantastic ongoing level of service is also key.

What do you enjoy most about working for AAG?

There is such a positive atmosphere within the business.  After three years I’m yet to meet a mood-hoover or someone within AAG that speaks negatively of it.  The business is built around an ethos of encouragement and support, which allows us to deliver the best results for our customers.

Can you offer an example of the positive company culture and supportive management?

Within our bus and coach team, we’re a big family.  We trust and push each other to be our best.  It means that we go out into the market confident to share our knowledge, and we have the support of AAG to back us up.

What has been your biggest personal achievement in your role?

Playing my part to establish our name as a leading player in the bus and coach sector has been hugely satisfying.  Without doubt, our presence has grown massively, and we’re recognised as arguably the most specialised funder in the sector.  I’ve learned that to be successful in the bus and coach sector, you must become part of the fabric of the industry.  We do that by actively giving our support and being visible at events, exhibitions, dinners etc. We’re the antithesis of a faceless organisation.

Describe yourself in three words.

Easy-going, assured, dependable.

Describe your perfect day off, what do you like to do?

An early morning run, followed by a hearty cooked breakfast (preferably at the Koffee Pot in Manchester; the best breakfast in the world).  Then off to the beach for a bit of family fun (in my head it’s about 28 degrees – you did say “the perfect day”), then back for a big feast on the BBQ followed by gathering around a fire pit.

Is there a new initiative or offer in your part of the business that you’re excited about?

The launch of our bus rental product last year has now been boosted with the addition of coach rental.  This gives us greater scope to help customers adapt to the market and to meet their requirements.
