Asset Alliance on target with new contract as Bullet Express upgrades its fleet

Asset Alliance has secured a major new deal with Glasgow-based Bullet Express, supplying 12 new DAF 6×2 tractor units and 11 new trailers on a three-year, full-service contract hire agreement.

The distribution and logistics provider awarded the business to Asset Alliance following a competitive tender, favouring the firm’s honest approach to customer service and swift delivery times. Bullet Express has direct experience of working with Asset Alliance, having taken several short-term rental vehicles on hire during the summer.

David McCutcheon, Managing Director of Bullet Express, says: “Asset Alliance was the clear standout of all the suppliers we approached. They offered us the most comprehensive and cost-effective solution and were honest and straightforward throughout, delivering everything on time and as promised.

“Their approach to business – open, flexible and efficient – is a perfect match for our own, and they understand the importance of maximising fleet uptime throughout the contract. The customer service has been continually excellent, and we are already looking forward to replacing more of our fleet with them in the future.”

Eight of the new DAF XF 530 Super Space Cab tractor units, voted International Truck of the Year for 2018 by road transport journalists from 23 European countries, are operating out of Prestwick airport, south-west of Glasgow. They have been liveried in the company’s distinctive blue and white branding and, along with four specialised, aeroplane part carriers, are working solely on Bullet Express’ contract with Spirit AeroSystems. They will deliver wing parts for planes from the airport to sites in Bristol, Chester and Nottingham.

The four remaining tractors and seven new, tri-axle Montracon curtainsiders will be liveried and in service by November, being employed across Bullet Express’ extensive trunking network.

Bullet Express will benefit from Asset Alliance’s comprehensive full-service contract hire offering, which includes all safety inspections, maintenance, servicing and repairs, plus tyre cover and full roadside assistance.

Bullet Express began operating in 1990 and has two distribution and storage sites in the eastern suburbs of Glasgow. It offers a 24/7/365 delivery service throughout the UK and Ireland, with a fleet of 48 trucks and 47 trailers and is a member of Pall-Ex network.

Note to editors:

Asset Alliance Group is redefining the way companies acquire commercial vehicles, through its brands Asset Alliance, ATE Truck and Trailer Sales, Forest Asset Finance and Total Reefer.

The Group occupies a unique position in the market, as it uses its own funds and significant buying power to supply multi-brand vehicles on any combination of contract hire, operating lease, finance lease or hire purchase. This flexibility, combined with a transparent and consultative approach, helps customers drive maximum efficiency from their fleets.

Asset Alliance Group also stands out for maintaining full control of residual risk through its retail arm ATE Truck and Trailer Sales, which protects customers from overly strict return conditions commonplace in the industry. Its modern workshop facilities also keep end-of-life costs to a minimum and provide the opportunity to refurbish vehicles in-house for an additional life in service.

The Group is headquartered in Wolverhampton and was founded in 2010 by Willie Paterson, former Director of Commercial Finance at Alliance & Leicester plc.
