Used Rigid Curtain Side Trucks for Sale

Curtain side trucks offer excellent load flexibility for varied cargo types, while their strong structural design and classic side access allows for faster loading and unloading without compromising protection.

The reason these vehicles are so efficient and adaptable is because the curtain sides can be drawn back for side loading to save time. Once secured, they offer protection from weather and theft. Their rigid chassis ensures stability and durability, while the design supports a higher payload area compared to fixed-sided vans.

We offer a range of used rigid curtainsiders from top industry brands such as DAF, Mercedes-Benz, Volvo, Scania and Iveco. Options include different body lengths (e.g. 7.5-tonne, 18-tonne, 26-tonne), roof-type (curtained roof, sliding roof), side curtain types (manual or drag-pull curtains), tail-lift or rear-door access, and manual or automatic gearboxes. Whether you need nimble urban machines or high-capacity regional rigs, we have configurations to match.

Curtainsiders are perfect for businesses with mixed cargo, bulky items, palletised goods, or for customers who require frequent side loading operations, like distribution centres, retailers, event logistics, timber or steel transport, and general haulage that demands both flexibility and protection.

Browse our current stock of rigid curtainsiders and benefit from tailored finance, service support and expert advice.

FAQs

What is the difference between a curtain side and a tautliner?

They are effectively the same concept and often used interchangeably. A “tautliner” is a trade name often used for curtain-sided trailers or trucks with tensioned curtains; all tautliners are curtainsiders but the term “curtain side” covers them all more broadly.

How many pallets fit in a curtainsider?

This depends on the load body length and width, but typical rigid curtainsiders can house approximately 14-18 Euro pallets. Larger models may carry more depending on configuration.

Can the curtain side be opened on both sides?

Yes. Many of our curtainsiders are fitted with side curtains that can be pulled back fully to either side for side loading, improving speed and ease of access. Some may also have sliding roofs for top-loading options.

Are curtainsiders harder to maintain than a box van?

Maintenance isn’t inherently more difficult, but curtainsides have additional components (curtain rails, tensioning systems, side seals) that require regular inspection and maintenance. That said, Asset Alliance ensures our trucks are professionally prepared, so these systems are reliable.

Do these trucks come with tail lifts or rear doors?

Yes. We often have curtainsiders in stock both with and without tail lifts. Rear doors may also be available depending on the specific model. We can help you find one to match your access and handling requirements.
