Asset Alliance Group showcases support for Transaid at prestigious event

More than 125 senior executives from across the transport and logistics industry gathered in London last week (28 October) for Transaid’s annual showcase event.

The ceremony was held in the presence of Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal (pictured), patron of the international development organisation that Asset Alliance Group pledged its support to as a corporate partner in 2024.

Asset Alliance Group was represented on the day by Marketing Director, Grant Law.

Its staff have marked another active year of fundraising for the charity. Simon Bird, National Account Manager at Asset Alliance Group, took on a 328km cycle from Dublin to Cork in September, and a 7-a-side team from the Group’s Wolverhampton HQ competed in a fundraising tournament in Ilkeston this summer.

Thanks to its membership, donations and fundraising efforts such as these, Asset Alliance Group is on course to raise £30,000 for Transaid in 2025.

Speaking at the event, hosted at Eversheds Sutherland, Transaid Chief Executive Caroline Barber, said: “I am so grateful to this incredible industry that works together to build a fairer and more sustainable future. This community knows how to come together, solve problems and get things done.”

The showcase also provided an opportunity to present the annual Victor Simfukwe Award, in honour of the former Transaid team member who passed away in 2019 following a road traffic crash in Zambia.

It was awarded to Ernest Chanda, Project Technical Coordinator for the MAMaZ programmes, for his outstanding dedication to the project and ensuring impact across communities.

In February, The Princess Royal officially opened the new London office of Asset Alliance Group parent company Arbuthnot Latham.
