It is with huge regret that we at Asset Alliance Group have to announce the unexpected death of our Group Fleet Director, Ian Padley. We received the very sad news of his passing from the family on Monday morning of this week (3rd August 2026).
Ian loved his motorbikes and travelling widely on weekend trips with friends. He and his wife Joanne also shared a love of holidays, outdoor pursuits, especially walking and paddleboarding. A fitter, more health conscious and dedicated family man, you could not meet, so this news is a great shock.
An industry man through and through – with senior roles at BRS and then Alliance & Leicester / Santander – Ian became our company’s first employee in 2010 as the fledgling Asset Alliance Leasing became established.
As our Fleet Director, Ian drove the business forward. He never wavered from supporting and developing his staff. He has been a pillar of Asset Alliance Group for more than 16 years and will always be held in the highest regard. His contribution to our business was truly remarkable.
His loss has been acutely felt across the whole company. We have all lost a dear friend and work colleague. Ian will be missed by so many in our industry, but also remembered so fondly.
We would like to extend our sincere condolences to Joanne, Ian’s daughters Grace and Faye, and their families, including his young grandchildren. Most importantly of all, they were his life and his legacy. We send our love to them for their sudden loss during these very difficult times.
