PJH has invested in new contract-hire vehicles from Asset Alliance Group as part of a major fleet renewal programme.
The leading bathrooms, appliances, sinks and taps distributor, has taken delivery of 14 DAF XF tractor units, and 20 new 7.5-tonner DAF LF box trucks in a multi-million-pound, multi-year deal.
The deal, which includes the repair and maintenance of the hire vehicles, provides PJH with surety and peace of mind.
Shaun Berry, National Transport Manager at PJH, says: “Our vehicle fleet has grown by 30% in just over three years. Having vehicles on contract hire means we are in control of our monthly overheads, knowing the fleet is always maintained to the highest standards.”
The vehicles will be used to renew PJH’s distribution and home delivery fleet, with the operator typically replacing 30 to 40 vehicles every year for reliability and to maintain its professional image, ensuring its team of 185 drivers are well resourced.
The latest deal was handled by Stuart Sadler, Business Development Manager for the Midlands at Asset Alliance Group. Currently 100 of PJH’s 130-strong vehicle fleet have been sourced via the commercial vehicle specialist.
Berry adds: “We have built a strong rapport with Stuart and always receive first-class service from the business. They are competitive on price and it’s a great overall package. Working with Asset Alliance Group makes my life easier, affording time to focus my energies where they’re needed.”
The two companies have worked together since 2018, and the relationship has more miles to run with Asset Alliance Group due to supply 21 MAN TGE panel vans to PJH later this year.
As one of the UK’s largest suppliers of bathrooms, appliances, sinks and taps, PJH carries out 3,000 store and home deliveries for retailer B&Q each week. It also supplies its products to independent retailers, builders merchants and house builders.
Headquartered in Bolton, the business has additional distribution centres in Glasgow, Cannock, Bristol and Enfield in London.
