Describe your remit and responsibilities as Head of General Asset Finance at Asset Alliance Group?
The General Asset Finance division supports new and existing customers who are buying assets outside of our traditional offering. Among other things, we support businesses purchasing plant, machinery, garage and warehouse equipment. As the head of the division, I am responsible for helping Asset Alliance Group (AAG) achieve its growth aspirations by identifying new opportunities and diversifying our portfolio to support the company’s expansion.
What do you enjoy most about working for AAG?
Although the group is the UK’s largest specialist asset finance provider, there remains significant growth potential for the business. The company has an entrepreneurial spirit and is continually developing new products and exploring new markets. With ambitious growth plans and numerous expansion opportunities, AAG offers an exciting future and is a great company to work for.
What’s the best thing about your team/department?
Our team is the newest addition within AAG. Starting from scratch has allowed us to build an exciting proposition that matched market requirements, without having to worry about legacy issues or a set way of approaching things.
Can you offer an example of the positive company culture at AAG?
The group is constantly looking to improve. The belief that we can always do things in a better way shows our desire to achieve great things. We do this in two ways: first by looking at operational improvements that can be made; secondly by looking after our staff, as happy people with a good work-life balance deliver the best results.
Who or what inspires you in your day-to-day work?
I am inspired to make the General Asset Finance division the best it can be, enhancing our offerings to customers and establishing a strong market reputation. My goal is for customers to view us as a trusted partner in their business. Additionally, I am committed to creating a work environment where staff enjoy their roles and take pride in their contributions.

Who is your role model or hero outside work, and why?
Nelson Mandela’s story inspires me. It demonstrated the profound importance of standing up for what is right, even at great personal cost. Despite facing immense adversity, Mandela emerged as a compassionate leader, embodying resilience and moral courage. His life is a powerful testament to the impact one individual can have on the world, and the principles of equality and treating people with dignity and respect continue to resonate today.
Describe your perfect day off, what do you like to do?
My perfect day would be switching off from day-to-day work activities, and either going on an adventure such as a hike, or for those lazy times, sitting in a cafe when it is sunny and watching the world go by.
