Liverpool-based JMD Haulage has marked 40 years of business by taking on its 75th truck – delivered with a special commemorative livery by the company’s preferred vehicle provider, Asset Alliance Group.
The new Mercedes-Benz Actros 510 tractor unit with GigaSpace cab joins the fleet on a four-year full-service contract hire agreement, and is expected to clock-up 120,000km annually, hauling containers mainly collected from The Port of Liverpool across the UK on behalf of major shipping lines.
JMD Haulage Director, Alan Maguire, says: “We’ve worked with Asset Alliance Group for a number of years and every order has been straightforward with minimal fuss – everything just falls into place and they take all the hassle away.
“This latest order was no different and the anniversary livery was an unexpected personal touch which is really appreciated. This is the first time in our history that we have had 75 trucks running at one time, so it is a real milestone for the business.”
Dave Potter, Managing Director at Asset Alliance Group, Contract Hire and Leasing, adds: “JMD Haulage is a fantastic family-run business and we’re proud to support them with this tractor unit celebrating their 40 years in business and their largest active fleet to date.”
The haulage specialist will benefit from Asset Alliance Group’s comprehensive full-service contract hire offering, which includes all safety inspections, maintenance, servicing and repairs, plus tyre cover and full roadside assistance.
Family-run JMD Haulage was founded by John Deveney, a former merchant seaman. The company is one of only a small number of UK hauliers to possess a Section 5 firearms licence, enabling the transport of prohibited weapons and ammunition.
